Fabric and Garment Dyeing Service for Fashion Brands

Color is what makes a garment recognizable, desirable, and on-brand. Getting color right across every piece in a production run is one of the most technical challenges in garment manufacturing. SDF Clothing's dyeing service delivers consistent, certified color across fabric, yarn, and finished garments — from single-color production runs to complex multi-shade collections.

Why Dyeing Quality Matters

Color consistency is what separates premium brands from cheap manufacturers. A small color variation between pieces in the same order is visible to customers and leads to returns. A shade that does not match across reorders breaks brand consistency over time.

Bangladesh has invested heavily in modern dyeing infrastructure since 2015. Today our dyeing facilities use computerized color matching, automated chemical dosing, and energy-efficient machinery — meeting both quality and sustainability standards required by EU and UK retailers.

Types of Dyeing Services We Offer

Fabric Dyeing (Piece Dyeing)

Dyeing finished fabric before it is cut and sewn into garments:

  • Reactive dyeing for cotton and natural fibers
  • Disperse dyeing for polyester and synthetics
  • Vat dyeing for the most colorfast results
  • Pigment dyeing for vintage and washed-out looks
  • Solid colors and tone-on-tone effects

Yarn Dyeing

Dyeing yarn before knitting or weaving — produces deeper, more uniform color that survives many wash cycles:

  • Hank dyeing for premium yarn coloring
  • Package dyeing for standard production
  • Space dyeing for multi-color yarn effects
  • Melange yarn dyeing for heathered fabrics

Garment Dyeing

Dyeing finished garments after construction — gives a soft, lived-in look popular for premium streetwear and casualwear:

  • Cold pigment dyeing for distressed effects
  • Reactive garment dyeing for solid soft shades
  • Overdyeing existing colored garments
  • Tie-dye and acid wash effects

Specialty Dyeing Effects

  • Wash effects (stone wash, enzyme wash, sand wash)
  • Dip-dye and ombre gradient effects
  • Acid wash for vintage denim and tees
  • Mineral wash for soft worn-in handle
  • Reverse dyeing and discharge printing
  • Burnout effects on blended fabrics

How Color Matching Works

Pantone Color Matching

You provide a Pantone TCX or TPG color reference. Our color lab uses computerized spectrophotometers to match the exact color values. We produce a lab dip (small sample) for your approval before bulk dyeing.

Standard color matching tolerance is Delta E < 1.0 — meaning the visual difference between target and produced color is imperceptible to the human eye in normal viewing conditions.

Custom Color Development

If you have a specific color in mind that does not match any standard Pantone reference, we develop custom colors:

  • Send us a physical color sample (yarn, fabric, paint chip, or photograph in natural light)
  • Our color lab develops 3-5 lab dips approximating your target
  • You select the closest match and request refinements
  • Final approved lab dip becomes the bulk standard

Color Consistency Across Batches

For repeat orders, we maintain color records in our lab system. Reorder the exact same color months or years later — we match the original within Delta E < 1.5 (industry standard for batch-to-batch consistency).

Dyeing Certifications We Hold

GOTS-certified dyeing — uses only approved low-impact dyes from the GOTS approved chemical list. Required for any GOTS-certified organic garment claim.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — guarantees the dyed fabric or garment is free from harmful chemicals, including azo dyes, formaldehyde, and heavy metals. Required for EU REACH compliance.

ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) compliance — ensures no hazardous chemicals are discharged into wastewater. Required by major brands for sustainability commitments.

ISO 14001 environmental management — covers wastewater treatment, energy use, and chemical handling protocols at the dyeing facility level.

Our Dyeing Process

Step 1

Color brief

You send Pantone reference, fabric/yarn/garment sample, or color description. We confirm the target color and certifications required.

Step 2

Lab dip development

Our color lab produces 2-3 lab dip samples matching your target color. Lab dips take 5-7 days. You receive samples by courier for evaluation.

Step 3

Lab dip approval

You approve one lab dip as the bulk production standard. If none of the initial samples match exactly, we produce refined samples until you approve.

Step 4

Bulk dyeing production

Approved color is applied to your bulk order. Single-color batches take 1-2 days for fabric dyeing or 2-3 days for garment dyeing.

Step 5

Color verification and approval

Production samples are verified against the approved lab dip using spectrophotometer measurement. You receive a production sample for final visual approval before delivery.

Step 6

Delivery

Approved bulk-dyed fabric or garments are delivered to your next production stage or warehouse.

Dyeing MOQ — Minimum Order Quantities

Stock colors (mill standard colors like white, black, navy, grey): 50-100 kg minimum for fabric dyeing. 100-200 pieces minimum for garment dyeing.

Custom colors (your specific shade): 200-500 kg minimum for fabric dyeing. 300-500 pieces minimum for garment dyeing.

Specialty effects (wash effects, dip dye, ombre): 300-500 pieces minimum. Some effects require 1,000+ pieces for consistency.

For smaller orders below stock minimums, we sometimes consolidate dyeing batches across multiple buyers using the same color.

Getting Started with SDF Clothing — What to Expect

Starting a new manufacturing relationship requires trust, clear communication, and a structured process. SDF Clothing has worked with hundreds of brands across the USA, UK, Australia, and Europe, and we've refined our onboarding process to make it as simple and transparent as possible for new clients.

The first step is always a design brief or tech pack submission. You don't need a finished tech pack to get started — even a rough sketch, a reference garment, or a detailed description is enough for us to provide a ballpark quote and confirm whether your project is a good fit for our factory. From there, we move to formal costing, which includes fabric sourcing, trim selection, and lead time confirmation.

Sampling is the most important phase of any manufacturing project. We produce a pre-production sample for your approval before any bulk fabric is cut. This sample lets you verify fit, construction, fabric quality, and color accuracy before committing to full production. Most clients approve samples within two rounds of revisions. We never proceed to bulk without your written approval.

Bulk production follows a structured quality control process. Our QC team conducts in-line checks during production and a final AQL inspection before packing. You receive a pre-shipment inspection report with photographs and measurements before we release your order for shipping. If anything falls outside the agreed specifications, we address it before the goods leave our factory.

Shipping from Bangladesh to the USA, UK, or Australia takes between 22 and 35 days by sea freight. We prepare all export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and bill of lading. For EU shipments, we include the necessary documentation to support duty-free entry under the GSP scheme. Air freight is available for urgent orders and samples.

What Brands Say About Working with SDF Clothing

Our clients value three things above everything else: reliability, communication, and quality consistency. We respond to all enquiries within one business day. We provide weekly production updates during bulk manufacturing. And we back every shipment with our quality guarantee — if a garment doesn't meet the agreed specifications, we make it right.

Whether you're launching your first clothing brand with 300 pieces or scaling an established label with thousands of units per season, SDF Clothing provides the same level of attention and professionalism. Our minimum order quantity of 300 pieces reflects our commitment to supporting brands at every stage of growth, not just large buyers with the leverage to demand low prices.

Ready to start? Submit your design brief through our contact page or request a sample directly. We'll respond with a quote within 48 hours and guide you through every step of the manufacturing process from there.

Why Partner with SDF Clothing?

SDF Clothing is a direct-access garment factory in Bangladesh — not a trading company or buying house. When you work with us, you communicate directly with our production team, receive transparent pricing without agent markup, and maintain full control over your supply chain. Our factory holds GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, BSCI, WRAP, and ISO 9001 certifications.

Bangladesh is the world's second-largest garment exporter, shipping over $47 billion in apparel annually to USA, UK, EU and Australian markets. Our minimum order of 300 pieces reflects our commitment to supporting brands at every stage of growth — from first collections to established seasonal production runs. We offer full package production covering tech pack development, fabric sourcing, sampling, bulk manufacturing, quality inspection, and export documentation under one roof.

For US brands, sourcing from Bangladesh avoids the Section 301 tariffs that add 25% or more to Chinese imports. For EU brands, Bangladesh's GSP duty-free access delivers lower landed costs compared to most other sourcing destinations. These trade advantages combine with competitive FOB pricing to deliver strong margins for our clients.
